Imagine an extremely quiet college dorm and you’d have the sense of our place. It’s not uncommon for several hours to pass without seeing or hearing another resident.
At any given time residents include working class folks, students as well as nurses, engineers, a chemist, graduate students, and high level professionals in various fields (we’d do well at Jeopardy) and we’re proud of our remarkable history of diversity.

Charles Dickens’ grandson built The Coffman House in 1902 as his personal residence. In 1930, The Coffman House became the main hospital for the city of Longmont. In 1950 it became a rooming house. It was completely updated in 2017 under new ownership.

Today, The Coffman House looks to provide affordable, safe, and clean living to a wide range of people from all over the world.

The Coffman House has a range of living spaces, two community kitchens and nine community bathrooms. We offer single rooms, rooms with kitchens, rooms with half baths and ((studio’s) when they come available, they are first offered to current residents). Please inquire for specific availability.
